2-Day Dreadlocks Masterclass
This masterclass is open to anyone who has passion for the art of creating & maintaining dreadlocks and have a vision to turn this passion into their job.
This intensive 2 day course is also suitable for hairdressers or stylists who are looking to add dreadlocks skills to their portfolio. This course will give you the foundations you need to establish and grow your own dreadlock business!
This course will get you started on your new journey as a loctician by providing theoretical and practical knowledge on all you need for starting and completing full head of dreads, dreadlock extensions and maintenance skills after that.
Each participant will receive a full Loctician kit including a mannequin to practice throughout the class and get you started on your journey as a Loctician. We’ll have live models available also. All these content will be delivered by our in house Loctician with over 15 years of Dreadlocks experience with support from our EMB Staff Team.
Course Overview:
A two day group training course (Please note this is not an online course).
Time: 10:00-17:00 each day
Location: Nottingham, England NG1 2HN
All tools and equipment will be provided with ongoing support via our Loctician Facebook group.

Day 1
Setting up Dreadlocks Appointments
Your Loctician’s Toolkit- Everything you need as a loctician
Client consultation- Starting off when a client gets in touch
Quotations and Pricing- How to quote your client and decide your pricing.
Studio space must haves - Keeping your clients comfortable in your workspace ( it can be a long day)
Working long hours
Dreadlocks Creation with Natural Hair
Sectioning on mannequin head- learning how to do correct section sizes depending on hair thickness.
Making your first dreadlock
Practising more dreadlocks until confident
Aftercare notes for your client.
Explore alternative methods of starting a loc.
Installing Human Hair Dreadlock Extensions
Assessing clients hair colour for the extensions and how to choose the right shade
Advice on extensions and where to buy good quality hair.
Learn to Install human hair extensions
Practise all skills learn today.
Day 2

Dreadlock Maintenance
How to tidy and tighten dreadlocks - Roots, regrowth, loops etc
How to repair broken dreads/ weak spots
How to repair thinning dreads
How to join thinning dreads together
How to detangle matted hair
How to keep scalp and dreadlocks healthy
Detoxing dreadlocks
Removing dreadlocks
Maintaining a real clients dreadlocks on Live Model.
Certificates of completion will be provided when the course is complete.
